Charles V Fiers

Retired Master Sgt. Charles V. Fiers died Monday, March 20, 2023. He was 82.

Charles was born April 18,1940 in Rockford, Michigan. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1959 and after completing basic training he married his high school sweetheart, Sallie.

Charles proudly served in the U.S. Air Force completing four overseas tours in Japan, Korea, New Zealand and Saudi Arabia. Charles and Sallie moved to Florida in 1972 where Charles would finish up his 21 year Air Force career at P.A.F.B. Soon after retirement Charles became a Level 4 Logistics Manager at NASA and served 16 years as a Transportation Operations Specialist.

Charles's greatest accomplishments went beyond his Military and NASA careers. Together, with Sallie, he raised three children in which he instilled morals and values creating responsible and loving adults. 

Charles is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Sallie Fiers. His three children, Laura (Mark) Frye, Daniel (Linda) Fiers and James (Kourtney) Fiers. His grandchildren, Michael, Raymond, Audrey, Alex, Zach, Deanna and Meghan. And several great-grandchildren.
