Obituary

Robert S Grant, a veteran of the Vietnam war and a long time resident of Mims, Florida passed away on Monday 21 st November 2022 surrounded by his wife Sharon and daughter Allison. Bob as he was known to many in the area was born on the 4th of July 1945 in the Blue Grass State of Kentucky. Bob enlisted in the Marine Corp in 1962 and saw action in Vietnam and had many amazing stories of his time there.

The U.S. Marines recognized Bob for his honorable service with a Purple Heart, where he was wounded in Vietnam along the DMZ.

After his discharge from the Marine Corp, Bob made his home in Brevard County for the last 45 years. He worked in security at NASA and the SWAT team at Cape Canaveral AFS, FL. For the rest of his working career, he dedicated his life to the construction industry. Bob enjoyed sharing his experiences and many amazing stories of his time in the Marine Corp and serving our country in Vietnam. You could always count on Bob to fire up the grill, share a cocktail on the patio and of course his passion for construction came with free handy man tips. He loved to see the results of his hard work.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Sharon, daughter Allison Mcmullan ,  son in law Michael), daughter Kelly Weaver, son in law Mickey, and son Scott Schrein. In addition, grandchildren Ashley Loaza,  Matthew Diaz, Harrison, Autumn, and Logan. Weaver, Joshua Schrein and Shelby Schrein  Wachter. Great grand daughter Wynree Wachter.

The family would like to thank the entire staff especially Nurse Summer at St Francis for the care and support they gave Bob and family through this difficult time.

Celebration of Bob’s life will be private.

A special “Thank You” to the family and friends that attended Bob’s pinning ceremony at the Titusville VFW Post 4228.  Bob’s last Ooh Ra, raising a glass, sharing memories with family and friends was special to him and will live on with his loved ones. .
